Important Notice: Tourist Tax

Please be aware that a mandatory Malaysia Tourism Tax of MYR 10 per room per night is applicable to all foreign passport holders, effective from January 1, 2023. This tax is not included in your initial room booking and must be settled directly upon check-in at the resort. Exemptions are granted to guests who are Malaysian citizens holding a valid Malaysian identity card or valid permanent residents presenting a MYPR Card.

Arrival and Check-in Procedures

To facilitate your check-in process, guests are kindly requested to present a valid photo identification document along with a credit card upon arrival. Should you anticipate arriving outside of standard check-in hours, we kindly ask that you inform Meritus Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa, Langkawi in advance. Late arrival requests are subject to confirmation by the resort and may involve a surcharge. You can communicate your estimated arrival time using the Special Requests box during the online reservation process or by directly contacting the property using the contact details provided in your booking confirmation.

Policy Regarding Additional Guests

For accommodations exceeding double occupancy, an additional supplement charge of MYR 350 per person per day will be applied for the third guest and onwards (for adults and children aged 4 years and above). This supplementary charge encompasses the provision of a day bed, breakfast for the additional guest, and standard room amenities. This policy is applicable across all room categories and suites, with the exception of the Family Room and Beachfront Family Room. Please note that the maximum allowance is one extra bed per room. This extra person charge is not included within the standard room rate. To arrange for an extra bed, please contact our dedicated hotel reservation team prior to your arrival.

Mandatory New Year’s Eve Dinner 2025

Guests planning to stay at Meritus Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa Langkawi during the New Year’s Eve period (December 31, 2025) are required to participate in our exclusive Compulsory New Year’s Eve Dinner. The charges for this celebratory dinner are set at RM800 nett per adult and RM400 nett per child. It’s important to note that the New Year’s Eve Dinner charges are already included for 2 adults within the standard room rate for stays encompassing December 31, 2025. For any additional guests beyond the initial two adults, the corresponding New Year’s Eve Dinner charges will be collected upon your arrival at the resort.

Implementation of Tourism Promotional (Heritage) Fee

Commencing January 1, 2025, a Tourism Promotional Fee, also known as a Heritage Fee, will be implemented. This fee is set at RM10 per room per night. During selected peak event periods, such as the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA), Ironman Langkawi, Le Tour De Langkawi, and Oceanman Langkawi, the Heritage Fee will be adjusted to RM20 per room per night. This fee is separate from your room reservation cost and will be collected from guests upon arrival. For reservations made prior to January 1, 2025, guests will be required to pay the difference in the Heritage Fee amount upon check-in.

Restrictions on Certain Fruits in Guest Rooms

To maintain the pristine condition and pleasant ambiance of our guest rooms, certain fruits are restricted within the accommodations. Fruits known to emit strong odors or possess staining properties, specifically durian and mangosteens, are strictly prohibited from being brought into guest rooms. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to this policy.

Important Note Regarding Guests Under 18 Years of Age

Please be advised that guests who are under the age of 18 are permitted to check-in at Meritus Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa Langkawi only when accompanied by a parent or officially appointed guardian. We uphold this policy to ensure the safety and well-being of all our younger guests.
