Recent events in Nirman Vihar have brought the operations of spa and massage centers under increased scrutiny, following a police raid that exposed an illegal prostitution racket. Authorities have arrested two individuals in connection with the case, shedding light on the darker side of businesses operating under the guise of wellness and relaxation in Delhi.
The individuals apprehended have been identified as Ram Sagar (24) and Deepak (20). This action was the result of a meticulously planned operation by the special staff of East Delhi and Preet Vihar police station. Acting on confidential intelligence, law enforcement officials initiated a sting operation to verify the alleged illegal activities at a spa within the Nirman Vihar area.
The operation involved sending a decoy customer to the spa, who, after confirming the illicit services offered and agreeing to a price, signaled to the waiting police team. This pre-planned signal prompted the immediate raid on the premises, leading to the arrest of the two individuals present at the location. According to reports from DCP East Amrutha Guguloth, the manager of the spa, identified as Ajay Singh, is currently at large, and efforts are underway to locate and apprehend him.
During the raid, authorities discovered nine women working at the spa. The spa, reportedly operated by Praveen alias Titu Chaudhary, is now under investigation for violating the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. This incident raises serious concerns about the regulation and oversight of spa and massage centers in residential and commercial areas like Nirman Vihar.
Police reports indicate that the specific spa in question, operating under the name True Bliss Spa in V3S Mall, had been under suspicion for some time. Prior to this recent raid, a similar case had been registered against the same establishment in July 2022, suggesting a pattern of illegal operations. The ongoing investigation aims to delve deeper into the extent of the racket, its duration, and any potential involvement of other individuals or networks. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the challenges in maintaining ethical business practices within the spa industry and the need for vigilant monitoring to protect vulnerable individuals and uphold the law, particularly in areas like Nirman Vihar known for their commercial activity.
